    • Over 1300 votes cast

  • Starting 2025 election process earlier: Joe Grobelny will lead nomination committee with membership from other councils

  • Started meetings focused on FOLIO Membership
    • Membership dues are key to community sustainability
    • CC agreed that earlier notion of "FOLIO Advisory Group" not useful, deleted from Governance model

    • June 10 zoom meeting, in-person meeting at WOLFcon (and social gathering)

    • Role has been filled by Patrick Pace mid-April through mid-October, 2024
    • CC has agreed to continue support for the role through FY25
    • Currently working to review role based on feedback

  • AWS Shared Infrastructure
    • Costs review group has FOLIO QA coordinator and CC + PC reps
    • Increasing costs for testing and Eureka+pre-Eureka environments
    • CC implemented $30k/month cap as interim measure, discussion of solution continues

  • Planning review of FOLIO Governance Model

So Far In 2024:

  • Developer advocate & documentation update
    • Patrick has completed his term as the DA
    • Left us with a great jumping off point for improved developer documentation
    • Will be looking for documentation volunteers!
    • What will happen next with the DA role is still to be decided
  • Eureka-related RFCs
    • Application formalization RFC approved
    • Overarching RFC for other aspects of Eureka is just getting started
  • Officially supported technologies maintenance
    • Requires updates for each release
  • TCR approvals
    • 9 modules approved this year
  • RFC Process improvements
    • Updates to the process and more communication to encourage greater use of RFCs

Completed/In-Progress 2023-24 Goals

  • Meeting Hygiene and Efficiency (Completed)
    • Adjusted length of weekly PC meetings, better tracking action items and decisions, Asia Pacific friendly time zone meetings
  • Structuring SIG reports (Completed)
    • Changed to written SIG convener reports and quarterly topical meetings
    • Example: Provided a forum to discuss the change from hot fixes to critical service patches, fewer annual flower releases, the role of the Release Management Stakeholders group
  • Application and Platform Formalization Proposals WG (In Progress)
    • Tri-Council group was formed in late 2023 with members from the CC, TC, and PC

  • Officially adopted Evaluation Process for New FOLIO Functionality
    • Pilot completed in 2023, some adjustments made in summer 2024
    • Better coordination with Technical Council’s review process
    • Need to hear from POs and Dev Teams early (and often) in the process!
    • Reviewed and endorsed new FOLIO functionality/apps
      • mod-reading-room and ui-reading-room
      • mod-record-specifications and mod-marc-migrations
  • Better Sample Data subgroup (In Progress)
    • Began as discussion of data issues in FOLIO Snapshot
    • Actively working since June 25, 2024
    • Goal is to update and improve sample data in Snapshot environments (reference data and sample records)
    • Also aim to renew and refresh data for the Bugfest environment

Prioritization and Roadmap Working Group wrapping up in 2024 after two years of work

  • Reflects work by many teams as part of Flower Releases
    • EBSCO, Index Data, Knowledge Integration, Institutional teams+vendors
  • 18-Month FOLIO Roadmap of work planned and in progress
  • Uses existing labels to display detailed roadmap on JIRA dashboards (Metadata Management Roadmap)

    • Develop leadership opportunities within the community

    • Roll out of new evaluation checklist
    • Improve sample data for testing
    • Implementation of a single PC calendar
