Communication

  1. Teachers will communicate with you often throughout the school year.
  2. Our main source of communication is Class Dojo. If you have not joined us yet, please join us! Students will received Dojo points throughout the day and we can message you through Class Dojo. Class Dojo is free, please do not pay for it unless you want to.

Science

PhD science is the curriculum we use.

It is broken down into 4 overarching modules:

  • Weather and climate
  • Survival
  • Traits
  • Force and Motion

There is a Science workbook, but it can not go home.

Social studies is broken down into 7 Units:

The main skills students will need to be familiar with are map skills, reading sources and answering questions.

There is a Social Studies textbook, but it can not go home. It can be found on the bayou bridges website.

Study Guides will be sent home the week before a test, they will be sent home on paper and on Dojo in case a student is absent

Math

  1. All assessments are on Chromebooks in the Great Minds App. You can check graded assessments on Great Minds under “reports”. Scratch paper will be sent home on Thursdays in test folder.
  2. I do not collect homework. It is just extra practice for at home.

  3. Review sheets for assessments are sent home the day before the assessment.

  • Explain 2 workbooks.
  • Zearn and Xtramath and Equip
  • Explain daily classroom routine (instruction and intervention)
  • Exit tickets are sent home and used for data.
  • LEAP score equivalent to letter grades and data wall

Unit 1: The Stories of Julian Tells - Theme: Adventures through Reading

Assessments: Paper based for the current 9 weeks. (Transition)

Binders: Class work must stay in folder. We will clean them out in class after each unit.

Parents are to sign the folder on the appropriate line.

Test Folders should be returned on Fridays.

$18/ adult (NO CASH)

Need to know:

  • Must have Permission slip
  • Supply Fee must be paid
  • Field Trip Fees = NON-REFUNDABLE
  • Students must ride the bus
  • No younger siblings
  • No check-outs afterwards (2:15)
