Science

PhD science is the curriculum we use.

It is broken down into 4 overarching modules:

  • Weather and climate
  • Survival
  • Traits
  • Force and Motion

There is a Science workbook, but it can not go home.

There are very few things I can send home to help with studying for Science Assessments. Most of our Assessments are asking our students to apply what they have learned to a whole new concept.

Social Studies

Social studies is broken down into 7 Units:

  1. Founding of the United States of America
  2. Paper and Places
  3. A Growing Nation
  4. A Changing Nation
  5. A Nation of Industry and Innovation
  6. Towards a More Perfect Union
  7. An Ever-Advancing Nation

Unit 7 is not tested on LEAP

The main skills students will need to be familiar with are map skills, reading sources and answering questions.

There is a social studies reader, that I copy and we work on throughout the week. It does not go home, you can access a digital copy of the reader though this QR Code.

The Social Studies Workbook will go back and forth between school and home, we fill out the workbook with things they need to know for their test.

I also send home kahoot links which help them study for the assessments.

What is Kahoot?

I have gotten this question a lot this year! So I thought I would clarify!

Kahoot is an online platform that turns studying into game. Students can access the link on any device that accesses the internet.

These links can also be found on my OnCourse Website which you can find my scanning the QR Code below.

How to Access Students Online Tests

Students must log into their classlink, where they then will go to OnCourse and select the class who’s tests you are looking for.

If the assignment still says pending or is not there, it is because we have not released the scores yet. Once scores are released you will be able to open their assessment.
