Safe Scene: When you assess the scene, stop and look around you while you take a breath and think about your actions before you do anything. Make sure the area is hazard free for you & the patient. Look for electrical wires, water, and a safe place to perform CPR.
If you assess the scene to be safe start to perform hands-only or traditional CPR. If there is a bystander available, have them call 911.Ask if there is available first aid and AED equipment. As a bystander to also get the first aid and AED equipment.

Unsafe Scene: When you assess the scene, if the patient is in a roadway, near electric or water. You may have to do nothing accept call 911 and wait for emergency response.
