2025 INCCIP Conference Key Sessions
Keynote Speeches
7 of the world’s leading experts in child rights and human rights presented international practices and policy agendas for supporting children with incarcerated parents.
Youth Presentations
Young people with lived experience of parental incarceration shared their stories and explored the types of support needed to overcome social stigma and promote recovery.
Presentations
Practitioners and researchers from 10 countries introduced counseling programs and support models, and discussed psychosocial support strategies for children of incarcerated parents and their families.
National Assembly Forum
Lawmakers and policy experts held active discussions focused on gaps in current policies and areas for institutional reform related to supporting children with
incarcerated parents.
Young Adults with Lived Experience Exchange Program
A time of exchange was arranged so that young people with lived experience of parental incarceration could share their stories and build solidarity. Various cultural experiences were provided.
Field Trip (July 4)
We visited Yeoju Prison, the first facility in Korea to install a child-friendly family visitation room in partnership with SEUM, and Somang Correctional Facility, the nation’s only private prison, to observe the on-site support environments for children of incarcerated parents and their families.
