The purpose of Limerick HC is to foster a lifelong love of hockey in our playing community.

We offer our community the opportunity to play the game in an environment of friendship and belonging.

Our ethos is holistic in nature with development at the core of everything we do.

Respect- Respect is the cornerstone of everything we do. We respect the game. We respect our teammates. We respect our coaches. We respect the opposition. We respect the umpire. We respect one another.

Belonging: Everyone belongs here. Everyone has a part to play. Together we can achieve so much.

Joy: We come here to have fun. This is an enjoyable environment for our players, our coaches and our members

Effort: Effort is the heartbeat of achievement. We give of our best in everything we do

8. A Vision for our Coaching Teams

Our coaching teams are well-structured and organised and are made up of a diverse range of people, with broad and complementary skill sets. There are clear roles and responsibilities within our coaching teams as well as a clear coaching philosophy which is aligned to the Limerick HC Way

Defined Roles may include:

Manager, Administration, Equipment, Lead Coach, Individual Coaches, Mentors, Athletic Development, Specialist Coaches, Video and Data

9. A Vision for Our Coaching Model

• Players and coaches are having fun. There is joy and laughter.
• The environment is one of positive engagement. Players are enthusiastic and encouraged.
• The focus is on learning and improvement.
• There is lots of movement. Kids are running quickly
• Players get a high volume of ball contacts. The ball is front and centre. Players play the game.
• Common coaching language is used.
• The focus is on skill development and game awareness.
• Sessions have an organised flow.

10. Parents and Supporters as Custodians

We expect our parents and supporters to be respectful and encouraging to all members of our clubs.

We encourage them to provide genuine support and compassion for everyone who gives of their time and effort in the name of Limerick HC.
