Gender and GBV Pre discussion - Abaiang

  • KPS - majority of their call outs were for domestic violence cases involving alcohol
  • ASWO - handled more than 40 cases (or one per week) in 2019
  • GoK SafeNet coordination mechanism for GBV services exists but is not operating well in all outer islands.
  • Agreed that all men and women have equal access to employment opportunities
  • Access to employment opportunities for women will lead to income generation thus raising standard of living.
