Dear families,

Your child’s teachers would like to invite rising students to enjoy reading this summer. We are excited to present you ideas and resources to help your child enjoy reading and stay engaged this summer.

You can help prevent any loss of all of the wonderful skills that your child gained this year by keeping up with reading this summer.

Use some of the resources below to help your child complete at least 15 of the activities on the attached Summer Choice board. Please feel free to choose books that interest your student. The goal is to instill the love of reading, not dread due to difficulty. Students will return this to their language arts teachers on the first day of school and earn their first A for the school year and receive a small treat.

Students can choose traditional books, magazines, and newspapers as well as online books, ebooks, and audio books.

Online Resources:

  1. Ebooks through Leestown Library
  2. Leestown Library Media Page

I read all of the books that I listed on the choice board!
