  1. Search and Open Google Earth

2. Sign In

    • If you're not already signed in, click the "Sign in" button in the top-right corner and log in with your @student.dodea.edu account.

3. Start a New Project

    • Click "New“ in the upper left corner and then select “New Project”.

4. Name Your Project

    • Give your “Untitled project” a name, such as "Harry Potter Locations."

Add Placemarks

  1. Search: In the search bar, type "King's Cross Station, London.“ and select one of the places listed.

  • Click on “Save to project” in the pop-up window.

Adding Locations:

Click in the bottom right to enter street view.

Click on any of the blue dots or lines will take you to ground level(street view).

Click on to add the street view to your project.

Click this to go back to normal view (upper left).

Change street view name to Platform 9 ¾ street view.

Click Description and add: "Platform 9¾ is a hidden platform at King's Cross Station where students board the Hogwarts Express.“

Media can be added here.

Location 2: Alnwick Castle, England

  • Search: In the search bar, type "Alnwick Castle, England."
  • Description: Add a description like "Alnwick Castle served as the exterior of Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films."

Location 3: Leadenhall Market, London

  • Search: In the search bar, type "Leadenhall Market, London."
  • Description: Include a description such as "Leadenhall Market was used as the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.'"

Location 4: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Scotland

  • Search: In the search bar, type "Glenfinnan Viaduct, Scotland."
  • Description: Add a description like "The Glenfinnan Viaduct is featured in the iconic scene where the Hogwarts Express crosses the bridge."

Location 5: Durham Cathedral, England

  • Search: In the search bar, type "Durham Cathedral, England."
  • Description: Include a description such as "Durham Cathedral's cloisters were used as a filming location for Hogwarts in several Harry Potter films."
