Teacher Spotlight Mr. Rowe

BY Michael Bravo

Mr. Rowe is one of my favorite teachers. He keeps it R.E.A.L. by being respectful to all of his students.

He is always assisting with understanding what we are doing wrong and correcting us so we can play better. Mr. Rowe has been an esteemed educator for five years, specializing in band instruction. For the past 17 years he has been playing various instruments, with a primary focus on the bassoon. Notably, Mr. Rowe is in his second year with our wonderful Woodbury Middle School.

His favorite colors are black and gold. He has 3 cats, loves roller blading, and going to the movies. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and daughter at the park.

Newspaper Journalist at Woodbury

By: Mrs. Mathis

We have 2 journalists behind the Woodbury Newspaper, Michael Bravo and Nathan Cordova. Michael is a sixth-grade student with a passion for reading anime books, engaging in video games and participating in outdoor activities with his siblings. His culinary preferences include spaghetti as his favorite meal and ice cream as his preferred dessert. Nathan, a seventh grader, serves as a secondary journalist for our

school newspaper. He actively participates in extracurricular activities, including jazz band, newspaper club, and yearbook. Nathan’s interests encompass chess, football, and playing the trumpet. His fast food preference is hamburgers. Both Michael and Nathan possess creative and enthusiastic traits, contributing valuable ideas to the newspaper’s development.

Flag Football

BY: Nathan Orozco Cordova

Our organization offered flag footballs as one of the fall sports for boys and girls at Woodbury. The first game took place on September 4, 2024, and the season concluded October 30, 2024. The boys team had 4 wins and 6 losses, while the girls team faced some challenges during their season.

Chance Glover, a WMS team member, expressed his enthusiasm about the team's performance this year. He highlighted their ability to play cohesively and maintain high energy levels throughout most of their games. Despite being a relatively young team, they demonstrated impressive skills on the field.

Halloween Dance

BY: Nathan Orozco Cordova

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Woodbury MS held its first dance of the year. The event was sponsored by the school’s Student Leadership organization and had a Beetlejuice theme. A total of 150 tickets were sold for the event.

The highlights of the evening included dancing, a photo booth, and socializing. The event was a great success. We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped to chaperone.

In October, ten students at Woodbury were recognized as Students of the Month for embodying our school's values of Respect, Excellence, Accountability, and Leadership (REAL). To honor their achievements, a celebratory luncheon was held in the beautifully decorated library, featuring a delicious Chipotle meal. Our counselors’ secretary Mrs. Koogler, organized the event, and Mrs. Brown , Mrs. Loveday, and Ms. Rojas graciously assisted with serving food and drinks to the invited guests. Several proud parents were present to cheer on their children's remarkable accomplishments. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding students when you see them:
