Group brainstorming�(15’)

  • Participants are grouped by tables
  • Participants in tables are given 5 minutes to discuss the practices that they believe HHFA data collectors need to conduct good interviews with health facility staff
  • A note-taker in each table records the agreed-upon practices
  • Facilitator asks each table to share 2 practices that haven’t been mentioned before and records answers in flipchart or PowerPoint
  • Facilitator opens discussion on appropriateness of the practices listed
  • Facilitator shows the HHFA recommended practices

    • Listen carefully to the respondent
    • Request consent from the facility in charge prior to asking questions
    • Never suggest answers to the respondents
    • Read every question exactly as written and in sequence
    • Probe for a response when necessary

    • Ask all applicable questions
    • Thank the respondent at the end of the interview
