Day One -
Hey guys! We’re here in Armenia to visit Peter’s Great Grandfather who is REALLY ancient. He told us to meet him at ‘Հին տեղ.’ My translation books say it means ‘An old place.’ Woohoo! This is kind of like treasure hunting! Our should I say ‘Grandpa hunting!’ Anyways, we decided to start at the Geghard Monastery! It’s very ancient, but no Grampa. We called Peter’s Great Grandpa Dan and he said we had to look even older! Before we left, I snapped a few photos to put in the photo book!
Day Two -
Hey! Me and Bob decided to visit the Noravank Monastery, which is much older than the last place! We looked around. No grandpa again! We called Dan again and he said to look back to the FIRST CENTURY! Bob is skimming through books to find the oldest place in Armenia! I am hyperventilating, because we only have one more day to look for Dan! Aha! We found a place that’s super old!
Day Three -
We are at the Garni Temple! It dates back to the first century! We walked around, but NO GRANDPA. Suddenly, Dan jumped out of a bush and scared the life out of us! He said every successful Treasure Hunter (Or Grandpa Hunter) deserves some good Armenian food! We ate under a tree beside the temple and boy! Armenian food is THE BEST! Bob said that this is only the SECOND best and told me to wait until we get to Russia and eat some good pryaniki!
