Postbac program funding survey

  • Postbac program survey
  • For the coming years, we have 2 postbac/year from original budget. We need additional funding sources in order to support 2 more postbac:
    • Reallocate Cloud Credits ($57K/year)
    • Reallocate senior personnel annual grant
    • External funding
  • Two cost sharing scenarios:
    • Scenario 1: cost sharing by all 17 PIs
      • $6.6K/year from each PI’s annual budget
    • Scenario 2: cost sharing between common grants and the host PI
      • $57K/year from common grant, $29k/year from host PI

NSF site-visit agenda

NSF program managers guidance:

  1. All presentations should be planned in such a way that 1/3 of the time allocated to a presentation is reserved for questions by the site visit panel.
  2. There should be an introductory overview presentation and one presentation each devoted to the research topical areas covered by the institute.
  3. There should be a presentation about the Education / Outreach activities being conducted by the institute.
  4. There should be a presentation about the Knowledge Transfer / External Collaboration activities of the institute.
  5. The lunch on the first day of the visit should be combined with an informal meeting of the site visit panel with the students and postdocs participating in the institute (with no senior members of the institute present).
  6. On the first day, there should be a brief executive session for the site visit panel scheduled mid-day, and an extended executive session scheduled towards the end of the day. The panel is likely to formulate overnight homework questions for the A3D3 team, with your responses to be provided the morning of the second day.
  7. The engagement of the A3D3 team with the site visit panel should wrap up around lunch time on the second day, as the panel will be busy writing the site visit report after that. Please, plan to provide space to the site visit team to allow us to do the writing.
  8. All institute members are welcomed to join review sessions
  9. External Advisory Board should not be invited to the Site Visit
