General Practices

  • Social distancing of 3 ft or more is recommended by public health. If this is not possible, grouping/podding of students will be practiced to limit exposure.
  • Hand washing or hand sanitizing will be required when students enter a new space.
  • Continued disinfecting of classrooms and gathering spaces will take place.

Face Coverings/Masks

  • Students and staff are not required to wear face masks, although it is highly recommended for all individuals (vaccinated or unvaccinated) to limit COVID-19 exposure.

COVID-19 Exposure Protocol

  • Mrs. Aschenbrenner or Ms. Cordes will evaluate for COVID-19 symptoms, as needed.
  • Students who display two or more COVID-19 symptoms will be isolated until they are able to be picked up from school.
  • Mitchell County Public Health recommends any student demonstrating symptoms get tested with your family provider to confirm.
  • If test is negative, the student will be allowed to follow our school sickness protocol and return once symptoms subside.
  • If positive, MCPH will contact your family with isolation proctol.

Contact Tracing

  • Osage CSD will continue to partner with MCPH to contact trace. If your child comes in direct contact with a positive individual for more than 15 minutes, you will receive a letter via JMC. This will outline your options

Transportation

  • In-town busing will no longer be provided; this includes the shuttle bus from Lincoln to the MS/HS.
  • Face coverings/masks are not required while riding the bus, but are highly recommended.
  • Parent drop-off and pick-up of children will occur outside the school building.
  • Daily disinfecting of the buses will continue to take place.

Cleaning of Facilities

  • Each classroom will be wiped down in between periods before a new group of students would enter.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are present throughout the building to encourage frequent cleansing.

Volunteers/Visitors

  • Non-essential volunteers and visitors will not be allowed access to buildings throughout the day.
  • This includes classroom family members, and lunch guests.
  • Those who do enter, we recommend to wear a face covering/mask.
  • If a parent needs to bring something to a student, there will be a tote available in the entryway to leave items. Staff will make sure your child receives it.
