Students!!

Do you want to learn about AI and its careers?

Let’s start with our 6th AI Session!

Today, we are learn About Examples of AI!!

Before we learn about Examples of AI,

Let’s understand Examples of AI : Voice Assistants

Students!!

Before starting our session, shall we set some norms?

This can help everyone in the room feel safe and will not fear learning & sharing.

Tell me what norms we need to set up?

Very good students for your responses,

Creating a Safe Space:

    • No fear of mistakes – Every answer is valued, mistakes are part of learning.
    • Equal participation – Give all students a chance, rotate roles.
    • Respectful listening – Use kind words, listen to each other’s ideas.

Students!!

You did a very good job.. Appreciation to all of you for your homework done well!

      • Now, tell me, “Can a Machine Understand You?”. Can any 2-3 students share your response?
      • Very good students.. Till now, we’ve explored intelligence in humans vs. machines,

how machines follow rules or learn from data.

Recap

Note: There are no right or wrong answers; encourage maximum participation

Okay Students, we will do a fun quiz! If you know the answer, raise your hand

    • Who has used Google Assistant or Alexa?
    • What did you say?
    • Did it understand you the first time?

You did a very good job..Let`s Explore more fro humans vs. machines Intelligence!

      • Students,Turn on the fan.
      • It’s really hot in here.

Recap

Okay Students, I have some Questions,,

    • What will you do after reading statement 1 and statement 2?
    • Which of these will a machine understand?
    • Why is one easier for a robot than the other?
    • The machines need clear, direct commands. NLP helps machines process language.
    • Let Us Know Natural Language Processing (NLP) by an activity.

Students!!

Now we will play a game called “NLP in Action - Talk Like a Robot”.

    • Students, we will work in groups of 4 or 5.
    • Each group, choose one student to be the Voice Assistant, the rest of Students in the Group, humans.
    • i will give each of you two commands From the Command table.
    • You will take turns reading your card to your Voice Assistant
    • If the command is clear, the Voice Assistant will say, ‘Okay.’
    • If the command is not clear, they will say, ‘I don’t understand.’
    • They cannot say anything else.
    • As each of you reads your Command, your group will fill in the worksheet together.
    • Let`s Begin..

Building Local Voice Assistance

    • when we talk to other people, we understand feelings, tone, and context, right?
    • But machines and robots cannot do that. They need clear, direct commands.
    • This is why we use something called NLP — Natural Language Processing.
    • i have a Question : What does NLP do?
    • NLP helps computers break our language into small pieces so they can understand what we mean and know what action to take..
    • Exactly. NLP helps computers understand human language better.

Students, Let`s build our own custom voice assistant

In our groups, you will make a small poster of your voice assistant.

    • Your poster should have four things:
    • A local name for your assistant.Example: AmmaBot, Bala, SiriChitti.
    • Draw a logo to the Voice Assistance.
    • Let`s give Three commands it understands in your local dialect.
    • One confusing phrase it cannot understand.

Students , use your local telugu stories, dialect words, food items, or festival names in your design.

Make it special to your district!

Students, do you know whose job is to teach computers to understand and use human language? And what do we call them?

Yes ! your right, we will call them Natural Language Processing Engineer.

Come on, let's read Karthik`s story to know how he became a NLP Engineer.

Career Spark & Stories: NLP Engineer

    • What did they learn from Karthik`s Journey ?
    • How many of you got interested in becoming a NLP Engineer ?

Students !!

Reflection Time & Homework

    • Voice assistants learn from people. They need training to understand accents, dialects, and languages.
    • One day, you might help Alexa or Google understand your district’s Telugu slang!

Students, i want to ask some Questions.

    • Did the robot understand everything?
    • Why do machines need clear instructions?
    • What if you speak in your home language - will Alexa/Google assistant understand?
    • What if your voice assistant only spoke English – can everyone use it?
    • Can a robot understand your emotions?

Home Work :

Students,,

If you designed a voice assistant for your grandparents, what 3 commands should it understand in their language? Write it in your journals.
