Life before the virus was absolutely crazy for me. I was buzy almost ever minute of the day. Between classes, work, friends, and other activities, I definitely had my work cut out for me. I enjoyed it though. The constant motion.

Life after the virus has been very rough. My whole entire plan and schedule was quickly taken away from me. The only thing I could now do on my schedule is school work. I miss all my friends and extra curricular activities. Most of my close friends were graduating too.

Plan: I turn on a fan that blows a ping pong ball down a folder ramp. Which then goes zig zag down dominos, after rolls across a board down a paper tube, and hits a paper back board. Next, the ball rolls down bubble wrap, down paint brushes, into a paper bag.

Materials:

Cardboard boxes, dominoes, paper, duck tape, paint brushes, folders, fan, tuna cans, bubble wrap...

Failures: I wanted to fan to be sitting on something, but I couldn’t get the ball to roll down. I just held it in the end.

Plan: A ball would knock down all of our dominos that spell out a word. The last domino would knock down another ball which rolls off the table, onto a fan that pushes the ball up onto another table.

Failures: The fan idea did not work. It was too complicated, we didn’t have a fan, and the positioning of the fan wasn’t going to work.

Plan: The ball will be on a structure and it gets pushed down, and rolls down a tube, knocks down dominos.

Machines:

  • 3D printed tube
  • Laser cut design on wood that dominos fall around
  • Printed a sticker using the vinyl cutter
  • Used bandsaw to cut wood for tunnel to stand on
