Scholarship-Based Programs

Chancellor’s Undergraduate Internship Program (CUIP)

Cost:

  • $5,500 scholarships are awarded to students
  • Hosting offices pay for half of the scholarship (plus a $250 administrative fee- totaling $3000), and the Chancellor’s Office funds the remainder
  • Scholarships disbursed quarterly until their award is exhausted

Timeline:

  • Offices apply to host an intern for the following school year by October 11. A committee recommends the positions to the Chancellor’s Office for approval in November.
  • Students apply for roles for the following school year in January, interview in February/March, and are onboarded in April.
  • The CUIP course takes place in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters

An inclusive internship program with scholarships funded jointly by participating divisions and a recurring award from the Chancellor’s Office.

CUIP is an opportunity for eligible students to build career skills in on-campus roles with a focus on leadership and professional development.

Under the leadership of a mentor, students hold a 300 hour position and take a Leadership and Institution Building seminar while participating in a supportive cohort environment.

UndocuCareer Development Fund (UCDF)

  • Program format
    • Students propose a budget and request as much funding as they see best fits their opportunity
    • Final UCDF awards depend on the student’s financial need, number of requests in a given cycle, and capacity of funds
    • UCDF Committee reviews applications and scholarships are processed through Financial Aid and Scholarship Office
  • Timeline: Application opens once a quarter and students can request funding for one or multiple quarters during the 24-25 academic year
  • Examples of opportunities that students can request funding for: Fellowships, research opportunities, conferences, volunteering, software for entrepreneurship, and more!
  • How can you host a student? Be listed on the student-facing resource list of departments willing to provide inclusive opportunities and UCDF applicants looking for an opportunity will reach out directly

In partnership between EOP and Career Success, a scholarship program that provides funding for undocumented students pursuing unpaid experiential learning opportunities or fee-based professional development opportunities.

Undergraduate and graduate CA Dream Act students are eligible for this funding.

UCDF is funded by EOP
