Creating a custom header

Creating a header image allows you to personalise your site to your theme and your learners. We believe this is better for classroom sites as it makes them more engaging for our kids.

You can use keynote or Google Draw to create your images. We are using Google Draw today.

  • Step 1: Create a new Google Draw

  • Step 2: Adjust the size to be 1000px by

250px

  • Step 3: Insert your image/ text

Creating a header

Remember, when finding images from Google they need to be free to use! This is the same when you are finding any image to use for your site

Creating a header or custom image

Once you are happy with your design, download your Google Draw as a PNG image and upload it into the header box on your Google Site.

Creating buttons

Just like before, open a new Google Draw and adjust the size. We recommend a size of 200px by 200px as Google Sites will allow you to resize your buttons when you insert them in your site to get a perfect fit.

Once you have completed your Google Draw, download it as an image.

We decided to make flower shaped buttons. To do this, we found a PNG image of a flower. This means that it has a transparent background.
