Career
Dior began his career in fashion working under renowned designers Robert Piguet and Lucien Lelong. In 1946, backed by textile magnate Marcel Boussac, he founded his own couture house in Paris.
In 1947, he launched his legendary debut collection, dubbed the "New Look." Featuring cinched waists, full voluminous skirts, and opulent fabrics, this collection revolutionized post-WWII women's fashion and re-established Paris as the global capital of haute couture.

Dior rapidly expanded his empire into fragrances (Miss Dior), accessories, and international markets.
