Summer Programs

  • One positive COVID case has been reported in July in the WPSD.
  • Wearing masks is optional in District buildings; but are strongly encouraged.
  • Masks are not required on school

buses, but are strongly encouraged.

School Funding Lawsuit Update

  • Oral Argument before the Judge takes place on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 9:30am in Commonwealth Court.
    • Legal arguments will be presented detailing why we should win the case based on the law.
    • Our attorneys hope to convince the judge to evaluate the current funding system.
    • Opposing counsel will have a chance to respond.
  • The proceedings will be livestreamed on the Commonwealth Court YouTube page and can be accessed at www.fundourschoolspa.org/trial

Summer Enrichment Programs

  • WPSD Summer Enrichment programs started on June 27 and continue through Thursday, July 28
  • Approximately 650 students are participating in the summer enrichment program
  • 156 students are enrolled in the Credit Recovery Program
  • 225 students are enrolled in the ESY Program

Free Summer Meals Continue through July 28

  • Free breakfast and lunch for children and teens age 18 and under
  • Monday through Thursday
  • Evans Elementary School and Penn Wood Middle School
  • Meals must be consumed at the school locations
