Virtual college and career fair
On October 6-8, from 4:00-8:30 pm the tri valley will be holding college and career webinars. If you’re interested, you can find more about joining HERE.
Action Changes Things art contest
The Alameda education office is holding a student art contest where you can submit any piece of art that represents “how action changes things”. For more info sign up HERE.
Educator making a difference award!
As part of a new distance learning award system, a teacher will receive an award for making the most difference during remote learning. You can nominate a teacher HERE. Nominating period closes after October 16!
Amador car show October 2nd!
This Friday, October 2nd, deck out your car and come to the Amador Valley parking lot for the car show! Cars will be decorated with the Amador theme, and the most don worthy car will be picked by the judges!

School site council meetings have been officially confirmed to take place over zoom every third Wednesday of the month from 3:15-4:15

PUSD online tutoring

School pictures will be happening this year on October 27th, 28th, and 29th in the small gym at Amador. No photos will be taken for seniors who attended Amador last year (2019-2020). Alameda county has officially been pushed back to the purple tier, meaning recently opened back up events such as indoor dining will be forced to close back down.

This Wednesday from 10:45-11:30 Lakshmi Sajith will be hosting an online yoga session open to all students. Fill out THIS FORM to sign up.

Due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in Alameda County, all camps/activities on campus have officially been either canceled or postponed.
Make up pictures postponed
Yearbook pictures originally scheduled for Dec. 2nd have been canceled until further notice and to be rescheduled to an undetermined date.

PUSD has decided to reopen voluntary camps over winter break, beginning December 21st. Remember to social distance and stay safe so we can keep them going!

Second semester schedule changes
AV counselors are taking second semester schedule change requests until January 15th! To make a request you can fill out THIS FORM.
End of semester book return
From Tuesday Jan.5 to Friday Jan.8 students will be able to return books in front of the Amador theater from 9am to 3pm. You can check out THIS FORM to see what books you need to return.

Special board meeting scheduled for Jan. 7th at 4:30pm
This board meeting is held to consider a potential change to the grading policy that will impact Semester 1 grades. To learn more about the draft proposed policy, click HERE.
Feedback on remote learning
PUSD teaching and Learning Division is seeking student feedback on online classes as they plan to provide an updated recommendation to the Board on transitioning secondary students back on campus. Click this LINK to take the survey by Jan. 10th at 5:00pm.
Second semester schedule changes
AV counselors are taking second semester schedule change requests until January 15th on a space-available basis. To make a request you can fill out THIS FORM.
End of semester book return
From Tuesday Jan. 5th to Friday Jan. 8th students will be able to return books in front of the Amador theater from 9am to 3pm. You can check out THIS FORM to see what books you need to return.

Students officially returning to school under hybrid model March 11
The school district has finally given Pleasanton high schools the go ahead to return to in-person learning on March 11. The students that chose to return will be split into two group sorted alphabetically. (A group: A-L; B group: M-Z)
Amador’s Writer Ensemble and Foothill’s Literature Club is publishing The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse is an interscholastic literary and arts magazine and is now accepting submissions of prose, poetry, screenplays, art, and spoken word until April 2nd.
Period for 2021-2022 school year scheduling ends March 7th
Make sure to get on the Q and put together your schedule for next year before March 7th. For more information on classes you can check HERE.

Junior college night
Juniors, if you’re looking for colleges to apply to and you're not sure where to start or just just have questions, the counseling department is offering a college night Q&A March 4th from 6-8 PM.
Scheduling workshop with AV counselors March 3rd
During access this Wednesday, March 3rd, counselors will be holding a workshop where students can drop in to ask questions about scheduling. Keep an eye on your inbox, you’ll get an email with the zoom link that day.
Round table discussion with Mr. Butterfield and ASB Team
To submit a question to be answered in the discussion, fill out this FORM. Responses will be recorded and answered by Mr. Butterfield in an upcoming video.

Wearing masks for hybrid
Students returning to school for hybrid learning will be required to wear a mask at all times. Check out this video to learn more about exactly where and when to wear your mask in order to keep yourself and those around you safe.
Daily health screener for hybrid students
Students going back to hybrid will be required to fill out a form every day they’ll be going to school on campus to confirm that they have no COVID symptoms. They should be sent to your parents email once a day.

Student activities hours
Students doing business with the Activities Department can only do so during school hours between classes on their designated hybrid day. Those on a different hybrid day or on remote schedule have the opportunity to visit the Activities window after 1:00 pm.

Hybrid expansion beginning April 19th
The Board of Trustees approved to increase secondary students’ time on campus to four days a week, with cohort A and B attending classes on campus for all four days (M, T, Th, F). View the updated hybrid schedule for more information.
AP testing just two months away
With the AP tests coming up in June, now would be a great time to get started studying! You can watch AP videos and find practice on the College Board site. There you can also find the dates and times of the tests specific to you.
Staying COVID cautious
In case you missed it, two emails have been sent out in the past two days confirming three student COVID cases at Amador. Anyone believed to have been in close contact with those students have been separately notified. Remember to sanitize, social distance, and stay safe!

AP students, download the AP Exam App
Here are the dates, times, and formats of the tests specific to each AP Exam. College Board released the 2021 Digital AP Exam app that requires downloading for any student planning to take an AP Exam virtually.
Looking for summer programs to sign up for?
Sessions for students to take over the summer are now live! While some are free and others come with fees, these programs provide great opportunities for students to gain various experience over the 2021 summer.

Spring MAP Growth Test for 11th graders
MAP testing for seniors is the new state administered test Amador will be taking this Wednesday (4/28). The first test will be on English, and the second test (4/5) will be on Math. Both tests will be from 10:30-12:30, and only juniors will be taking it. You can find some more information on the MAP test HERE.
Mr. Amdor snow this Friday
This Friday, April 30, Mr. Amador will be hosting their first ever virtual show. You can learn more about the show and where the proceeds are going HERE
College course opportunities

Math MAP Test tomorrow
Tomorrow (Wednesday May 5th) juniors will be participating in the Math MAP test, much like last week’s English MAP test. Juniors will report to their Math teacher’s zoom room after access from 10:30-12:30.
Textbook returns
Textbook returns will be happening May 21-25, before and during finals week. Hybrid students will be returning textbooks to their respective teachers, but there will be designated drop off times for remote students. You can check out all the rules and requirements HERE.

Textbook returns this week
For students who did not return their textbooks, school issued chromebooks (seniors only) and other materials can do so at the make up date on June 1st from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
