4. CASES OF STUDY -LIBERIA

Large scale oil palm production has been a source of conflict in Liberia since 2010. In 2022, RRI supported an exchange of Indonesian leaders and Liberian activists in Monrovia to discuss lessons learned from Indonesia, who implemented community monitoring to mitigate similar conflicts with oil palm producers.

5.CASE OF STUDY-INDONESIA

In December 2020, the community of Talang Parit in Indonesia, with the use of community monitoring data, got the attention of the RSPO after formally documenting the impacts of oil palm production on their land.

3 years ago, the Talang Parit community formally submitted the impacts of oil palm production on their forests to the RSPO.
