Impromptu Speaking VS Opening Speeches

Impromptu Speaking

  • Use bullet points
  • Make a short speech (30 or 45 seconds)
  • Done during moderated caucuses.
  • Not scripted

Opening Speeches

  • Done at the start of a committee
  • Given to state your country policy
  • About a minute
  • Written out before hand

Activity (Doing Stuff!)

  • Giving 45 second speeches on a topic
  • Pick a side from the topic
  • You will start with 5 minutes to write a 45 second speech.
  • Use HPA!
  • Then we will shorten the time with another topic
  • We will take volunteers, or we will cold call.
  • Pick a speech and write a speech in support of that side
