Mother’s Day ! Mother’s Day !
“I love you, mum“ children say .
On this day they cook a cake
And try a day off for mums make .
In March there is also a holiday for English women – Mother’s Day . People in the family try to make it a day off for Mother and help her in any way they can . On that day they visit their mothers and give them some presents . If they can’t do that , they send their mothers “A Mother’s Day Card” .
First April Masha is playing tricks on the bear

It’s a day for fun , jokes and tricks .
You can sound like pigs .
You can say “ your back is white “
or a funny message write .
In April there is a day for fun – April Fool’s Day .
English children like this day . They play jokes and tricks on other people : other children , parents and friends .

People celebrate Hallowe’en .
Ghosts , witches , wizards , spiders can be seen .
Children put on fancy dresses
And have very funny faces .
They say “ trick or treat , trick or treat “ ,

On the 31st of January people celebrate New Year . There is a lot of
dancing , eating and drinking .
There is an interesting New Year tradition in
Britain “First Foot“.
People believe that the First Foot brings luck to
the family .

Easter
In April or at the end of March English people celebrate Easter Day , a religious festival .
Since old times
Eggs and Easter Bunny have been
symbols of spring .
They symbolize new lives.
People decorate houses with lilies
which are white
and they make them bright .

Children get chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday .
Their mothers cook hot cross buns if you eat them you “will dance” . ☺
St Valentine’s Day
The 14th of February is St Valentine’s Day . It’s a day when boys and girls , friends and neighbours , husbands and wives , sweethearts and lovers exchange greetings of love and affection .

St Valentine’s Day is a honoring lovers holiday .
There is a custom of sending greeting cards in the shape of hearts .
Symbols of this holiday are red rose , gloves and dove .
They all symbolize love .
Good Friday

On Good Friday hot-cross buns are cooked and eaten in Great Britain .
If you have a stomachache you can eat this “Easter cake “.
