AP versus IB

  • The International Baccalaureate Programme is focused on critical thinking and global awareness.
    • Students must complete specific requirements to earn their IB Diploma: 2+ SL Courses and 3+ HL Courses from different IB subject areas (English, Math, World Language, Social Studies, and the Arts)
  • The AP program offers courses that allow students to earn college credit in high school.
    • Students can pick and choose which AP courses they take
  • BOTH programs offer engaging, challenging coursework for students.
  • BOTH provide and additional 1.0 weighting toward GPA.
    • Ex: A = 5.0
  • BOTH offer potential college credit pending an adequate score on the final AP or IB exam/evaluation.
