XCSO supports the pursuit of excellence whether you are an athlete, coach, official, wax technician, or event host.

GOAL #3

Ensure that Ontario athletes, coaches, officials, wax technicians, and event hosts are consistently recognized as among Canada's best

Objective 3.1

• Support athletes, coaches, technicians, and officials in the pursuit of excellence within effective development pathways
• Provide professional development and mentorship opportunities for coaches and officials

Targets ---> Annual increase in the number of certified officials at each level (Baseline 2023)

Objective 3.3

• More clubs are capable of hosting Ontario Cups
• Develop and implement strategies to increase the number of clubs which host Ontario Cups and Youth Championships

2026 Targets ---> 2 new hosts for Ontario Cup races or Youth Championships (Baseline 2023)

2028 Targets ---> 1 additional host for Ontario Cup races or Youth Championships (Baseline 2026)

XCSO OFFICIALS DEVELOPMENT

• SnowReg: Officials database more functional than previous season

-> Annual Officials licence will be a mandatory requirement to to be part of an OC

• The Locker is hosting all educational modules and automatically transfers newly acquired certifications into SnowReg.
• Level 1 training: $25 in the Locker (will be updated this season)
• Level 2 pre and post-quizzes in the Locker - free
• Course Controller e-learning Module $10 in the Locker
• Jeff Ellis (NC) took over Officials and Events and has been doing a fantastic job!!!

We have 10 qualified Divisional TDs

-> Hoping for each TD to have an assignment every other year

Officials Mentorship Program (3 Tiers)

Tier 2: Level 2 Officials targeting Level 3 certification

Level 2 Officials were placed on OCs to gain experience in targeted areas and prepare for future Level 3 course attendance.

OWG are an excellent opportunity for Officials to grow

XCSO OFFICIALS DEVELOPMENT

Tier 3: TD Mentorship: �

A consultant is available for every TD who has been assigned to an XCSO event. The mentorship will be through a virtual/phone connection - rarely in-person - before, during and after the event.
