About the 16 - 19 WLC Student Bursary

�Are you aged 16 - 19? You may be entitled to a bursary which is financial support that we can offer you to help with the costs of being one of our students. For example, paying for books, course materials, travel expenses or free college meals. You will need to meet certain conditions to be eligible for a WLC bursary.

You will need to register your account if you do not already have login details

If you received bursary last year, you should login using the same details as last year. Go to Step 6

English is a second language

Please select your language from the dropdown box to enable the application to translate into your own selected language.

 How to Register online account?

Create a Password / Confirm Password

Make sure you remember your password you will need this when logging into your bursary account.

Login into your College Email

YOU WILL RECEIVE EMAIL IN YOUR COLLEGE EMAIL ASKING YOU TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT

You will need to click on the link within the email you receive.

To activate your bursary account.

This will then enable you to login to your online bursary account on Pay my Student.

If you have not received this email please make sure you check the Spam Box within your email.

If you still struggling please speak to a member of the Student Services team on your campus for assistance.

If you do not know your college email and password will need to speak to your teacher

You will be able to see the status of your application from the front welcoming page.

Select your main campus of study from the drop down box

Your name and course details will appear here including your enrolment

If any of these details are incorrect please email lis@wlc.ac.uk to amend.

Step 17 - Travel Zones:

�Select the TFL travel zones you travel through to get from your home address to your main campus of study.

�i.e. if I live in Hanwell and go to college in Ealing, I travel through TFL Zone 3, one travel zone so I would select 1 or 2 TFL Zones

How to upload evidence i.e. documents or photos

Click on the upload key at the side of the evidence you want to upload

The option to either download the save file or to take a picture from your camera from your phone or access your photo library will appear.

Upload a picture of your ARC CARD or letter from home office confirming Asylum Seeker

Upload at least one piece of evidence under each question from the suggested list - make sure you upload the full document and multiply pages if needed.

16-19 Vulnerable Bursary Evidence

Looked After Child or Care Leaver

Upload a letter from your social worker confirming status as a looked after child

Or

Upload evidence that you are in receipt of Universal Credit in your own name

There must be evidence uploaded under each heading in order to move to the next page on the online application

Once all evidence has been uploaded.

You will be able to move onto the next page by clicking NEXT

Bank Details – Must be in learner name

All learners must provide bank details in their own name.

We are unable to make payment into anybody else's account.

You must provide bank details evidence confirming

  1. Name on Account
  2. Sort Code
  3. Account number

These details must match want entered on bursary form.

Asylum Seekers

All your support will be in KIND you do not need to provide bank details and can click the NEXT button.

Application Summary - Review and sign and submit application

Read through information make sure all correct, and tick declaration statement / sign the form by typing name and you will also need parent Signature.

Submit the Application by clicking on it.

Check your College Email

Your application will be assessed, you should receive a notification through you college email of the outcome to your application; it may take up to a week to process or a little longer if your applying at the start of the academic year.

  1. Approval Award letter outlining support being offered
  2. Further evidence has been requested for you to take action on.
  3. Application has been declined and there will be a reason stated in the non

approval letter.

Free College Meals (FCM)

Must be in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits

Must be age 16-18 or 19-25 with an EHCP

16-19 Looked after child / Care Leaver

19+ Asylum Seeker (Support in Kind)

  • You will receive an activation email to your college email

  • It usually takes 48hrs for your card to work from ID card being tagged and you receive the email

  • You uses your college ID card in the canteen to assess your daily allowance

  • You can not accumulate any unspent allowance and must uses allowance each day.

How do I know when FCM is Set Up?

Further Evidence Requested

You may be requested to provide further evidence of your 

  1. Residency
  2. Income
  3. Bank details
  4. Missing Lac Proof
  5. Further Evidence of Benefit for Free College Meals.

Please check your college email as all correspondence will be sent through this regarding financial support and make sure you also check your SPAM box.

Missing Evidence

If you receive an request to upload more missing evidence. Login to your bursary account and click on the blue button to access your form.

Keep clicking Next until you get the page to upload documents. Make sure you re-submit application once new evidence have been uploaded. This will then notify us to re-assess your application.

Missing Bank Details

If you have received a request to upload bank details - login to your account and you should be able to click on the direct link to your bank details. Or go to the page where it asks you to upload evidence
