Kiryu’s Personality
ISFP
This shows that Kiryu is introverted, sensing, feeling, and perceptive.
This is a very accurate portrayal of Kiryu as he likes some peace and quiet, but when someone is in need Kiryu is the first one to give assistance. Kiryu is also able to observe the situation very well. When it comes to Kiryu’s friends he will protect them with his life as well.
Kiryu
You (if you mess with him or his friends)
Ego?
Kiryu’s ego would not exactly be the best. This is due to how humble Kiryu is. Kiryu thinks himself to be a normal person, but everyone else have a reverence for him like no other.
Defence Mechanisms (SPOILERS FOR YAKUZA 1!!!!!!!!!!)
The only defence mechanism which I have observed is at the end of the first main Yakuza game. This defence mechanism is undoing.
After having Kiryu’s childhood friend (Nishikiyama: bottom figure, left) sacrifices himself for Kiryu during a power struggle in the Tojo clan, Kiryu leaves the clan and his place of power to make up for the death of his friend.

Self-Concept
Kiryu has a very healthy self-concept. He knows his limits and his abilities.
Social Media
Kiryu does not have a social media, but some people have already theorised what Kiryu would post if he did.
Kiryu is 54 and has spent 10 years in prison, he would not know what he is doing, and would likely only have his actual friends added on social media.
Upbringing
Both Kiryu and Nishkiyama (left and right) grew up in the sunflower orphanage. The sunflower orphanage was an orphanage run by the head of the Kazama family and a hit man for the Tojo clan named Shintaro Kazama (middle). Growing up the both of them looked up to Kazama and wanted to become a Yakuza just like him, and they did. Both Kiryu and Nishikiyama were always the big brothers to the rest of the orphanage. This simple start from an orphanage likely led to Kiryu being very humble and very protective of those close to him.
Nature vs Nurture
Kiryu was the child of a Yakuza (SPOILERS) that Kazama killed, reason for orphanage. Although the influence of this father is debatable, as Kazama could have given Kiryu the same influence and growing up in a difficult situation likely led to Kiryu’s incredible fighting ability.
So nurture had a bigger part to play than nature in Kiryu’s case.
