Varsity/JV and L3 - How They are Different

  • Varsity/JV
    • Varsity/JV play through the Colorado High School Sports Association (CHSAA)
    • League fees are paid through the high school

  • What is L3?
    • Level 3 (L3) is our developmental level to get players ready for the Varsity/JV level
    • L3 plays through South Jeffco Sports Association (SJSA)
    • League fees are paid through SJSA and NOT the high school
  • Regardless of the level they play at, ALL PLAYERS are considered part of the Columbine Baseball Program!
    • In addition to the league fees mentioned above, there is a Booster Fee for all players in the Columbine Baseball program

Facilities Improvements - Where We Now Want to Head

  • We have been raising money for the past 3 yrs for a Field house, the newest bid came in over the summer and is now approx. 1.3 million, therefore making well out of our reach.
  • In addition, Matt Lopez submitted an inquiry to the Daniels Fund (first step before submitting the full application), and heard back that we would not qualify as a beneficiary as we did not meet all of their requirements
  • The Board and Head Coach and the Athletic Director discussed what is possible with the funds we’ve raised so far
    • Over the past 3 years, the program has raised over $150,000 to put towards improving our facilities through fundraising
      • We believe it is important that the current players in the program get to enjoy the benefits of their hard work and deserve to see some improvements

  • Improvement recommendations with funds we have raised and support from the school
    • Score Board
    • Safety netting
    • Outdoor batting cages
    • Turf infield- we would like to turn all our efforts to this
