Your Future LA - powered by L.A. Cash for College - is a free series of financial aid, college prep and career workshops open to students, families and community members throughout Los Angeles County. These virtual events are geared toward high school students and first-year, first-generation college students who need more guidance on navigating the college process or parents and caregivers looking to create a college-going environment at home. ��

Your Future LA is a "one-stop" opportunity for all students and families to make an early commitment to college. ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN

Students and families are gearing up to submit their financial aid applications!

This year’s priority deadline – the last day to submit to get the maximum amount of funds - is March 2!

This toolkit has simple and easy to understand resources to share for those looking to get help completing their FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications.

Any student who watches one of our OnDemand workshops AND completes their application by the March 2 deadline will have a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship!

How to Use the Toolkit

1. CHOOSE A PLATFORM TO USE: SOCIAL MEDIA OR EMAIL

2. FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

                • Choose one of the caption options provided that corresponds to your chosen platform
                • Copy and paste the caption into a new post
                • Find and download the best image for your post in the appropriate format in our graphics folder which is divided into two phases
                • Add image to your social media post
                • Tag @lacash4college and @gotocollegeca platform accounts in the post (if you do, they’ll reshare it!)
                • Add yourfutureLA.com to your bio and add “click the link in bio” to your caption
                • Post it!

3. FOR EMAIL

  • Suggested language: Students and families are looking for timely and accurate resources to help them complete the FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications. Sharing reminders and resources will help get the word out! The deadline is March 2.

If you were born in Brazil, Barbados, Cuba, Haiti, Grenada, Guyana or Jamaica and were accepted to a four-year college or university in the U.S., then you may be eligible for Rihanna’s scholarship. If you meet the requirements, you could be awarded between $5,000 and $50,000. @badgalriri

      • Fun college fact: Did you know that Eva Mendes attended Cal State Northridge? @evamendes and @csun_edu 

      • Fun college fact: Pres. Barack Obama attended Occidental here in LA for undergrad. Both the former President and the First Lady had student debt which they paid down together.       • Fun college fact: Oprah Winfrey started a scholarship program in 1989 at Morehouse College that still exists today. This scholarship provides financial support to African American men who want to make a difference in the world through higher education. She’s donated $13 million with this scholarship fund.
