To The Graduate:
Graduation from high school is an event that only comes once in a lifetime. Your parents, relatives, friends, and most importantly, you, deserve a graduation ceremony that will be dignified and memorable. Your cooperation is essential. As a reminder; airhorns, cigar/cigarette smoking and vaping are prohibited. We want your graduation to be special; we want it to have class. Please do your part to make this the best graduation in the history of Burlington Township High School.
This booklet will give you all of the information that you need to understand the activities leading up to and including the ceremony.

The ceremony start time is subject to change depending on
weather conditions. Any changes to the graduation ceremony
will be communicated with as much advance notice as possible.

SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY
The Awards Recognition Ceremony will be held Thursday, June 5th at 6:30 PM in the Performing Arts Center.
After the ceremony, all recipients will receive an email with instructions and the contact information for the award donor so they can write a thank you note. All thank you notes must be written and properly addressed BEFORE being submitted to the Main Office. Checks will only be released AFTER the thank you notes have been received.
Please submit your completed thank you notes to Mrs. Robinson by Monday, June 9th.

GRADUATION PRACTICE
Dates: Tuesday, June 17th, Wednesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 19th
Attendance at practice is MANDATORY. All graduates are expected to be present on ALL DAYS. Failure to attend practice could result in a student not being permitted to participate in the ceremony.
All students must be PRESENT AND COOPERATIVE at practice. The practices will start promptly at 10:30 AM on June 17th and 10:00 AM on June 18th and 19th in the Hopkins Gym. The length of each practice may vary but students will be finished no later than 12:15 PM June 17th and 11:30 AM June 18th and 19th.
Dress code at practice will follow the school dress code. Please dress appropriately for all practices.
MATERIALS COLLECTION FOR GRADUATES
We will be collecting all school owned materials from seniors AFTER exams on Friday, June 13th and on Wednesday, June 18th. Media Center - books, chromebooks, laptops; Math Teachers - calculators; AD Office - uniforms; Cafeteria - lunch money; Main Office - parking tags and other obligations. You will NOT receive your diploma if you have not satisfied all obligations.
BOE POLICY for GRADUATION CEREMONY PARTICIPATION
Participation in the graduation ceremony will be limited to those students who have completed all of the requirements for their high school diploma. You must have cleared all obligations, fines or debts to the school. Participation is a privilege that may be denied to a student for good cause. Students must be in good standing to participate in school activities.

SENIOR CELEBRATION
This year we are celebrating our Seniors with a new event– the Senior Celebration! The Senior Celebration will take place, June 17th from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM on the BTHS campus.
There is NO FEE to participate. This event is a gift to the Class of 2025 from our Senior Celebration Committee in recognition of all their hard work and achievements.
Immediately AFTER graduation practice on June 17th, eligible seniors are invited to stay on campus and enjoy an afternoon full of fun, food and memories! We have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
Lunch will be provided at NO COST. Seniors are welcome to leave the event at any time but will NOT be permitted to return once they exit. We will provide bussing at 3:30 PM for seniors who do not have a ride.
Students must meet all school graduation requirements in order to attend the Senior Celebration. All school policies and rules apply to event.
Any student who is NOT in good standing and/or has NOT satisfied all graduation requirements, including clearing all fines, debts and obligations, is NOT eligible to attend this event.

CAP AND GOWN
Caps and Gowns will be distributed on Wednesday, June 18th after practice in the Main Cafeteria. Obligations sheets will be provided with the cap and gown. Please be sure to clear ALL OBLIGATIONS by Wednesday, June 18th. If you would like to clear any obligations prior to Wednesday, June 18th, you may contact the main office and someone will be able to tell you what you need to return.
The cap and gown is yours to keep. You do not have to return the cap and gown.
Graduates are to wear appropriate attire underneath the gown. Shorts, t-shirts, sneakers or flip flops are not permitted as graduation attire. If you are wearing a white gown, the clothing underneath should be light colored or white because it can be seen. Hair pins can be used to secure the cap.
A tassel will also be included. This is attached to the button at the top of the cap and is to be worn on the right side of the cap.
TICKETS AND SEATING
Each student will receive 5 GOLD and 2 BLACK tickets. All 7 tickets can be used for the outdoor ceremony. The 2 BLACK tickets are for indoors. There will be NO EXTRA TICKETS for graduates. Tickets will be distributed on Wednesday, June 18th after practice inside of the cap and gown bag. Please click on this link for handicapped seating and parking This electronic form was emailed to all senior parents. Please note that the person who needs the seating will have to have one of the 5 GOLD tickets and a handicapped seating ticket. One family member may sit with that person.
DRIVING AND PARKING
Because there is limited parking at the high school, carpooling for students during practices and all those attending graduation is encouraged.
CONCLUSION OF CEREMONY
To allow families time to celebrate this special occasion together, the field will close 30 minutes after the ceremony concludes.

GRADUATION RECEPTION
There will be a graduation reception for graduates and their immediate family members, at 4:30 PM in the cafeteria. All graduates must be in the Hopkins Gym by 5:15 PM.
BALLOONS AT GRADUATION It is distracting when guests bring balloons to the ceremony. They can obstruct people’s view of the ceremony. Please inform your parents and invited guests that BALLOONS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
DISTRIBUTION OF DIPLOMAS
During the ceremony, you will be presented with the diploma cover. Diplomas will be distributed Thursday, June 19TH AFTER graduation in the following classrooms. (See below) All obligations must be satisfied and materials must be turned in. Failure to do so will result in your diploma being held.

PHOTOGRAPHY AT GRADUATION
It is distracting when guests are moving about taking photos during the commencement ceremony. Please inform your parents and invited guests that they MUST NOT leave their seats to take pictures. Picture taking is PERMITTED BEFORE AND AFTER but NOT DURING the ceremony. Please DO NOT use tripods that take up seating space or impede the movement of people in the aisle. NO ONE EXCEPT THE YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPHER MAY ENTER THE TRACK OR FIELD AREA DURING THE CEREMONY.
