Please know that this presentation is not an exhaustive list of resources but some we found beneficial. We recommend that you pick a handful of resources that you feel best meet the needs and climate of your classroom for each subject. This will limit logins, passwords, and learning how to navigate websites.

  • Choose websites that increase accountability by being able to monitor student work. We will mark these websites using this icon throughout the presentation.

  • When you are able, choose similar student usernames and logins for multiple websites.

  • Keep directions for logins to each website in a handy place so it will be easier for parents.

Tips for teaching math online

Teaching Math Online (Article)

  • Keep it short and digestible
  • Focus on goals
  • Decide on your delivery mode and stick to it
  • Make it fun
  • Engage students

“Transitioning to teaching remotely requires you to rethink many aspects of your instruction. There will be challenges but there will also be opportunities. With students scattered across the globe, support them in their desire to stay engaged in their learning and with each other by giving them something active and collaborative to do beyond passively listening, watching, or reading. (Minerva Schools, 2020)”
