Going to the

Apple Orchard

I am excited to go to the apple orchard!

There will be rows of trees with red apples ready to pick.

First, I will climb into a wagon filled with hay.

Scratchy and itchy.

Maybe it will make me wiggle.

Next, a big green tractor will pull us down a bumpy dirt road.

Bump! Bump! Bump!

Maybe it will make me laugh.

Then, I will pick apples from a tree.

I will reach up high until I feel a

smooth, round apple.

It will snap off when I tug at it.

I might be startled.

After I pick each apple, I’ll put it

into a basket.

I will pick and pick until my basket

is full

Maybe it will make me proud.

The orchard may be busy.

I might hear people talking and

walking.

If I need a break.

I will take a big breath.

I will count to three.

Last, we will rest and have a snack.

I might choose a donut and a cup of

hot cider.

Yum! Yum!

I know I will enjoy going to the apple orchard.
