• Strategy was drafted in December 2019 and approved by the Nodes Steering Group(NSG) in March 2020:

Preparation for Regional engagement webinar (Aug/Sep 2021)

• We will host a regional engagement webinar in August or September
• This webinar will serve as our Q3 regional meeting
• Some topics to seed discussion:
• Hosted portal feedback and usage
• In what directions would we like to see the region go?
• Regional representative election coming up in December
• What are our near-term, medium-term, and long-term needs?

Topics/ideas identified in prior North America regional meetings 2020-2021

• Landscape analysis of the region: use participant knowledge to draw regional landscape.
• GrSciColl verification: conquer the mess that exists in GrSciColl regarding institution and collections, and update when necessary. Good opportunity to explain how GrSciColl works and role of data holders.
• List of documentation relevant to the region in order to fill some gaps (endangered species list, Exotic and Invasive species list, georeferencing but specifically fit for the region, etc.)
• Datathon where we all scroll through potential source of data (literature, open data stored elsewhere) and we start to work on these datasets.
