Who we are?

  • Founded in 2012 to promote and catalyze the adoption of MPEG-DASH and transition it from a standard to a deployed ecosystem.
  • With about 70 members, DASH-IF represents a large footprint of the ecosystem:
    • Service providers and broadcasters
    • CDN and client implementors
    • Technology providers
  • DASH-IF serves as the point of contact/coordinator for other standards organizations using DASH-based distribution.

How do we operate?

  • Weekly/bi-weekly calls by working groups and various task forces. Two annual f2f meetings.
  • Development of specifications, guidelines, whiter papers, and collaboration with consortia
    • Receive community reviews from public before publication
    • DASH-IF publication are available free of charge to public @ http://www.dashif.org
  • PAS Agreement with ETSI to publish DASH-IF specifications as ETSI specs.
  • Commissioning & sponsoring of conformance, reference and test tools, and test vector generation
  • Industry and academia engagements
