OUR MISSION.

To promote the welfare of KES children in school, home and community.

To increase communication between the home and school so that parents and teachers may work cooperatively toward enhancing the education of KES children.

To conduct fundraising events, when necessary, and programs for the benefit of KES students.

Budget Summary

  • Holiday Boutique - budget line is closed out and final
  • ASA - includes proceeds for fall and winter sessions, still awaiting bills from BOCES for fall and winter sessions
  • Fall book fair- budget line closed out and final, need to get new Scholastic Dollars amount
  • Classroom events - includes 2nd grade 50s day event and holiday craft of making gingerbread playdough
  • KES Merch- includes recent Holiday Sale
  • 5th grade fundraising - now $3,700 (includes pie sales)
  • Halloween Fair - budget line closed out and final
  • Staff Appreciation - includes 50s day celebration for teachers

Winter Committee Updates

Garden/ Greenhouse

  • 1st graders learned about bulbs and planted garlic to be harvested next summer
  • 2nd graders visited the butterfly garden and planted bulbs that will bloom this spring
  • 4th graders learned about the 3 sisters and were able to taste a 3 sisters’ stew

 

Buddy’s Bonus Activities

  • We had a successful fall session and have headed straight into winter!

Bulletin Boards

  • Our winter village will remain up through the end of January.
  • February will feature Kindness Month and Valentine’s Day!

Community Service

  • We had another successful holiday gift drive and wrap night.
  • Able to donate gifts to 14 local families as well as donate additional toys, games, and books to CCNW

Science Fair

  • Registration opened 1/8
  • Parent volunteers needed!
  • Look for information for T-shirt sales!

Winter Committee Updates

Fun in Fifth

  • 5th grader/ staff Volleyball game before break
  • Pancake Breakfast tickets on sale now! Look for volunteer opportunities for 5th graders and their parents!
  • Due 2/16- yearbook Bio, video pictures, T-shirt size

Kindness Day

  • February 10th 11AM- 1 PM
  • Participate in activities to help spread kindness in our school and local community
  • All KES families welcome!

Family Dance

  • March 8th (with snow date 3/27)
  • 5:30 to 7 pm in the gym
  • All KES families invited to attend together to enjoy our Winter Wonderland!
