94 of 100

Solfege Challenge

  • Middle School Treble Ensemble
  • High School Treble Ensemble
  • Middle & High School TB Ensemble
  • High School Mixed SA Ensemble

96 of 100

UPick Project

  • Vocal Solo/Cover Song - by yourself or in a group, record a song in Soundtrap. Pick any genre or style; keep it “radio edit” friendly. What kinds of changes can you make to the song? Instrumentation? Harmonies? Get some vocal coaching sessions with Mr. B. Final product is the finished music file, shared with the class.
  • Composition- Compose/arrange your own song! This could be for voice or instrumental. Create using Soundtrap and include a description of the song and any background information in your final producto to be shared with the class.
  • Choir Recruitment Committee - With friends, create a recruitment video that could be shared with younger students to encourage them to join or continue choir. Include what you love about choir (maybe interviews), the benefits singing/choir has on people, etc. Also includes a brainstorming session w/Mr. B.

97 of 100

UPick Project- cont.

  • Design Your Own Choir Concert - Using the variety of resources provided, program the music for the perfect choir concert. Your final product is an electronic program (Google Doc or Slide), 5 songs, and a rationale for each of your repertoire choices.
  • Cross Cultural Music - Select a different culture’s music to research. Find a creative way to present what you’ve learned to the class.
  • Music & History - Select an era of music or a historical connection to music to research and learn about. Find a creative way to share what you’ve learned with the class. Topics to consider: Protest Songs of 1960s and beyond, African-American Spirituals, composers, masterworks, Nationalism & Music
  • YOUR PICK - have a better idea? Let Mr. Bachofsky know.

98 of 100

Break Room!

  • How do you feel right now?
  • What sounds fun about the project? What doesn’t?
  • What project are you thinking of picking?
  • Do any seem easier than others?

99 of 100

  • Look over the UPick projects. Brainstorm ideas for each and see which calls to you more. When you’ve solidified your pick, submit your decision via Google Classroom Question. This is due by the end of class on Thursday.
  • Begin working on the Song Exploration Assignment due at the end of class Thursday.
  • Any final questions, comments, or concerns?
