Who can earn CTE Dual Credit?

  • 9th - 12th Graders

How do I earn this college credit?

  • Earn a minimum final grade of a C (2.0) or better in your high school CTE class
  • Complete the application process to claim your college credit

Is this really college credit?

  • Yes!
  • Claimed college credit will appear on college transcript as if you took the class at the college
  • Credits may count towards your certificate, degree, elective credits, and may be transferable
  • Now, you’re a college student, saving time and money, and gaining registration priority!

How Much Does it Cost?

  • Enrollment (application) is free in all Washington public two-year and four-year colleges
  • Claimed college credits are free

Will my high school grade transfer to my college transcript?

  • Green River College: Yes. The high school grade is calculated with the college GPA
  • Highline College: No. The course is listed separately on the transcript and does not impact college GPA
  • Renton Technical College: No. a “C” indicating C for Credit earned is posted to the transcript and does not impact college GPA

If I’m not planning on attending the college my CTE class has credit with, can those credits count at the college I enroll at?

  • If a student is interested in transferring the articulated course/s to other colleges or universities, please keep in mind that colleges and universities have the right and authority to determine program requirements and course offerings in accordance with their institutional missions. Please refer to the individual college or university's admission requirements and process for transferable credits and any applicable fees.

Is there a timeline/deadline for when I can complete this process?

  • Green River College: Within 4 years of completing the high school class
  • Highline College: Within 2 years after high school graduation
  • Renton Technical College: Within 2 years after high school graduation
