Rationale and Purpose

  • High school students’ analysis and interpretation of scientific data is often limited in scope, complexity, and authentic purpose.

  • The aim of Project CREDIBLE is to support and advance students’ work with data in high school science classrooms by embracing new ideas about where and how students can analyze data:

Project Overview

  • This is a five-year NSF “CAREER” grant project (read the whole thing here!)
  • Timeline
    • Year 1: Build two-way relationships and community, try things out in PD, start to develop units
    • Year 2: Implement the units in select classrooms, begin to understand students’ experiences
    • Year 3: Revise and expand the process - we’d love if you wanted to continue with us
    • Year 4: Same, and strengthen both the unit and wider program and the research approach
    • Year 5: Write results, plan for what’s next, bring students to Tremont
