New procedure for the

2025-2026 school year

when checking students in who are tardy and those students being checked out early.

This machine will be used for� ALL student check in and check out.

Parents will receive an ID card for their child in the back-to-school packet.

  • Parents must have their child’s student ID number to check their student in tardy or check them out of school.
  • Please keep this card to be able to scan the barcode.
  • Take a picture of the student ID card to be able to scan, it should work on your phone.
  • Parents must check students in if they are tardy (entering the office at 9:05 or later).
  • Students will be required to have their ID number memorized, please help them with this at home. These are used for lunch and library as well as checking in or out.

Please have your student to school between 8:55-9:00 am.

Tardy students must have a parent bring them into the office to scan them

in through the new machine.

Scanning the barcode on their ID card will be the fastest.

SEP Conferences�September 17th & 18th

On Wednesday, September 17th, SEP Conferences each teacher will be facilitating a parent workshop instead of individual conferences.

During this workshop, parents/guardians will receive the following:

Classroom/student data

Grade level expectations

Games/activities that can help support grade level skills

(All participants will leave with the supplies and directions to

practice the skills at home.)

On Thursday, September 18th, individual SEP Conferences will be scheduled by the teacher and/or parent.

Focus School Software is pleased to offer the Granite Schools Community App. The App, which is available from both the Google Play and Apple App stores, provides administrators, teachers, students, and parents a streamlined way to access student information.

Vista Playground

Vista is getting new playground equipment. Unfortunately, it will be a few months before it arrives. The staff will be taking time to teach students other playground games to enforce team play as well as rules and procedures. As a reminder, students are not to bring personal balls or playground equipment to school.

Technology

All students will turn in their technology devices (phone, watches, etc.) to their teacher each morning. These will then be returned to students before leaving school each day.

Please have your child wear tennis shoes on PE day.

Hats and hoodies can not be worn while inside the school.

Length of shorts and dresses – verify by having your child extend arm to their side

Tops – no spaghetti straps – should be width of 3 fingers

Stomachs are to be covered - no midriff shirts

  • Declaration of Candidacy forms are due on August 20th (submitted to principal). Note that a SCC election is only necessary if there are more candidates than vacancies on your council. 
  • By August 22nd, if an election is necessary at your school, please email a list of candidate names and biographies to communications@graniteschools.org.
