Language Agnostic Instructionals Protocol

  1. Extract isometric views (3D-like) of objects from the CAD file using the FreeCAD Drawing Dimensioning Workbench. Or draw by hand - but I think we can start with the FreeCAD isometric.
  2. Use arrows to show steps and how parts combine as in the picture to the right. It’s almost like an exploded part drawing.
  3. Label parts with Letter-Number (such as F for frame) so that a detail part drawing from the Drawing Dimensioning Workbench is included in an appendix to the LAI.
  4. Use ‘magnifying glass bubbles’ to show specific details.
  5. Use arrows to point to specific details
  6. Use Fab Tool Icons as needed
  7. Mark Quality Control Points with
  8. Color over starting steps with

Green, and finished step with red (here

Green is shown, it shoudl be red)

9. Save FreeCAD source files for Isometric

FAQ Questions

  • LaszloLG: Whats are the challenges/difficulties of moulding the parts of D3D instead of printing them?
  • LaszloLG: Could d3d be used to print out liquidized clay then apply some heat to harden that creating the moulding base?
  • Richard: What are specific skills to target for documenters?

Scrum Standup: Marcin

  • LAI protocol
  • Review form
  • D3D Circuit

Marcin, your internet is down on google hangouts

Scrum Standup : Jose Carlos

D3D webpage design documentation

Successfull test for 3D visualization using an iframe online with Sketchfab - note that we want to go to an open source solution for that - using WebGL

Next Steps/ Workitems:

> Clean the model in Blender to take out visual dirt

> Need access to wordpress to develop the page

> First visual prototype to discuss how it meets requirements/

Additional work items:

I wanted to make some CADs from the Extruder, started studying the documentation.

Scrum Standup: Laszlo LG

  • D3D printer Y axis assembly video Y1,Z (improvements to prev. versions: amplified voice with kdenlive's gain effect, perspective FreeCAD view, added motorblock to rods)
  • parts to reuse in zip

After uploading new video to youtube I removed the previous one. Then edited the workshop’s wiki to have the latest video in it. Then I added a process improvement suggestion related to this.

Scrum Standup: Chas

  • Updated Universal Controller Log
  • Ready to purchase parts for D3D Printer(wanting to double check if TB6600 is the correct part...had to change urls)
  • About to launch kickstarter -building upon OBI and Wikihouse. Curious about future seed-eco-home builds
  • Next step is to work on Universal Controller Prototype???

Process Improvement, Assignments + Other Suggestions

  • LaszloLG: Referenced obsolete google drive docs or youtube videos can break other pages. A workaround for this could be to use transclusion: 1. Create a wiki page for something which needs to be referenced, for example y axis assebmly video: http://opensourceecology.org/wiki/Link_to_d3d_y_axis_assebly_video This wiki contains embedded code of the video and can be versioned. 2. Then in the workshop page and everywhere else reference this wiki page with {{:Link_to_d3d_y_axis_assebly_video}} so its content will be included - example: http://opensourceecology.org/wiki/D3D_Instructional_videos_for_April,_29th,2017_Workshop What do you think?
  • Jose: Education includes the team as well (as developers) right? Team capacity development, learning on basic Agile standards and philosophy is good, as well as Enterprise processes: Is this related somehow to the roadmap of developer reputation?
  • Color code plastic parts and Instructions. Explore coloring recycled plastic.
  • Dedicated Sysadmins and IT support team to help with tech issues and explore resolutions to current collaboration software issues and new software.
