Yuba College professors teach 5 college courses each semester to only Sequoia Grove high school students. These professors are hand-picked for their ability to work well with high school students.

*There are some exceptions. Some community colleges allow all high school students to take classes. Other community colleges will only allow students over the age of 16 to take

classes. And still other community colleges will allow all high school students to take any class except math and English, which are available only to juniors or seniors. Check with your HST or HS Counselor for specific details.

Important Info…

  • A college class is going to be more accelerated and more rigorous than a high school class.
  • Your HST and your HS Counselor will only recommend you for a college class if you are a hard worker and earn good grades.
  • You will have more responsibility - college professors communicate directly with you - they will not communicate with your parents.
  • The grades you earn now in your college classes will be part of your permanent college transcript.
