Cell Phones

Exceptions

​

Cell phones can be used as a distance measuring device. (Slope not allowed)

Cell phones are used for scoring at the JV/Varsity levels during matches.

Policy

​

Same as school. Cell phones should be in your bag during all practices.

​

1st Offense - Conversation with your coach

​

2nd Offense - Email to parents about the cell phone policy.

�3rd Offense - Removal from practice or the course for that day.

Dress Code

Safety

Dress appropriately:

• No leggings or joggers at matches.

Reminder that the Golf Polo is a mandatory item for all levels.

Decisions will be based primarily on tryout score, past performance, and coaches discretion.

​

Cheating will not be tolerated at any point throughout the season.

​

The Break Down… JV/Varsity

• Matches
• Varsity 14-16
• JV 12

​

• Players will be guaranteed to play in at least 5 competitive matches.
• Excludes health reasons or ineligibility.
• Cancellations due to weather may affect this.

​

• There will be 6 players for each Varsity and JV match.

Movement Between JV and Varsity

• Athletes will move up or down based on scores.

​

• To move up, you must score better than the person ahead of you in two consecutive matches. Same day, same course.

​

• If you consistently post good scores, you will get your chance.

Practice Squad

​

Mission:

Learn to enjoy golf, learn fundamentals and basic rules

​

Commitment is 3 days a week. (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Cost…

• All athletes need to register and pay the $370 fee through the athletics department.
• Refunds given to athletes that do not make JV/Varsity or wish to play on the Practice Squad.
• After the refund is given, athletes will bring a Check made out to LABC for $225

Transportation

• Players are responsible for their own ride to and from practices and tryouts.

​

• JV Matches -
• Players are responsible for their own ride to all home matches and some away matches (Cleary Lake, Heritage Links, Waters Edge, Crystal Lake) Other matches will be in the district van.

​

• Varsity Matches - Players will drive themselves to and from all matches within the conference. Outside of the conference, we will get a district van.

​

​

Unexcused Absences

First - Miss the next match / P.S. Round

Second - Miss next match & meeting w/coaches and/or A.D.

​

LETTERING GUIDELINES

• Compete in 6 Varsity Matches.
• Duals, Invites, Conference Matches, or Sections.
• Scrambles do not count towards this.

​

• Score in 3 varsity matches: This means your score was used as one of our low 4 in a varsity competition.

​

• Be in the low 4 for the section meet or qualify for state meet.

​

• Coaches discretion.

Fundraiser

We will be hosting our 4th Annual Girls Golf Raffle for our fundraiser for the year. We have raised almost $28,000 in the past 3 years.

​

We will be selling 500 tickets at $20 a piece. The expectation is that every player sells at least 10 tickets.

​

Our fundraiser money helps to do many things for the program.

• Tryout Fees
• Participate in Invitationals from other schools
• Offsets cost for banquet
• Practice Squad Coaches
• Golf electronics and equipment
• Swag for the team
• Assist in Trip to Madden’s on Gull
• Etc..

​

​

Players who sell at least 10 tickets you will receive:

• Personalized Prior Lake Golf Under Armor Hoodie as picked out by our Captain and Leadership Team.

​

​

• Please collect the money from all sales of raffle tickets from your athlete.

​

• If possible, send a single check for the amount collected with your daughter to school to avoid a student losing cash or random checks.

​

• Please return all ticket stubs and the check to Coach Anderson at practice
