PLAN THE EQUIPMENT LAYOUT FOR A GOOD FINISHED INSTALLATION

Standard Operating Procedure

Step 1

7 of 17

  • Level out and mark the location on the wall for your penetration points, highlighted in yellow.

  • Per LG, the battery must be installed with the following clearances:
    • Top = 12”
    • Left and Right = 12”
    • Bottom = 24”

IMPORTANT: When the battery is installed, it will drop past the bottom edge of the bracket by at least 10”.

MARK PENETRATION POINTS

Standard Operating Procedure

Step 2

8 of 17

  • Mark two penetrations in each of the four numbered areas marked at the right.

  • Make sure that the penetrations for Areas 1, 2, 3, and 4 are clear of the bracket’s lip, circled in red. This will allow you to drop the battery in place with ease and will also allow the bracket and battery to line up so that you can secure the (2) M6 wall mount bolts.

MARK PENETRATION POINTS

Standard Operating Procedure

Step 2, cont’d

9 of 17

  • Use a drill with the 3/16” x 6” HSS extension Drill to make your pilot holes.

NOTE: Do not penetrate through the metal framing with the extension drill.

  • Use a drill with 3/16” x 6” HSS extension drill to penetrate into the wall lightly so that you can feel the tip of the extension drill make contact with the metal framing.

  • FYI: The Tek-Screws are designed to drill through the metal framing and fasten at the same time.

DRILL PILOT HOLES

Standard Operating Procedure

Step 3

10 of 17

  • After pilot holes are all drilled, use an impact driver with 5/16” nut setter to secure the Tek screws in place.

  • Use the 1/4” X 1-1/4” fender washer with the Tek screws. Make sure not to over-torque!

SECURE THE 14x3 TEK SCREWS

REVIEW BRACKET INSTALLATION

  • This is what the bracket should look like when all bracket areas have been fastened down.

  • Double check that bracket areas 1, 2, 3, and 4 all have two lags each.

Pro Tip: Fasten your lags exactly as pictured for metal framing.

NOTE: This same setup can be used for wood studs.

Step 5

BE CAREFUL WHEN LIFTING THE BATTERY - Stretch-and-flex first!!!

  • The LG Chem RESU10H Battery weighs 214lbs.

  • Most crews will need 3 people in order to safely lift the battery. (one person on each side, and one in front).

  • Make sure to use the LG Battery handles to help with lifting. You can MRF these from the SIS Product Portfolio (094-10000).

NOTE: You’ll need to lift the battery higher than the bracket’s lip in order to successfully secure the battery in place.

MOUNTING THE BATTERY

Standard Operating Procedure

Step 6

13 of 17

  • Make sure that the battery rests onto the battery bracket’s lip (see image below).

  • The LG Chem RESU 10H Battery comes with (2) M6 wall mount bolts.

  • Secure each of these bolts on the left side of the battery. (see images)

SECURE THE BATTERY IN PLACE
