PROM 2023

• Date: Friday, April 14, 2023.
• Time: 7:00-11:00 pm
• Location: VGCC Civic Center
• Theme: Masquerade
• Ticket Prices:
• $75 per person
• $140 for 2 person
• Payments due by March 4, 2023
• Prom King and Queen
• Will be Super Seniors
• Prom Prince/Princess
• Will be Juniors
• MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN

CRITERIA FOR ATTENDING PROM 2023

Behavior Requirement:

● No disciplinary referrals for SEM2

Guest Information:

▪ Age limits: No one over age 20 may attend. Additional approval required for 21-year-olds)

▪ Completed 2023 VECHS PROM Guest Form must be to School Administrator by 3:00 pm Apr 7, 2023 (required for all non-VECHS students)

– This will be emailed to you all

Day of the Event:

▪ All attendees: official North Carolina (or state) issued Photo ID required to enter

▪ Outside food or drink is prohibited

Prom Dress Code Policy:

Guidelines for dresses

● Dresses may be strapless or include spaghetti straps.

● Dresses may be v-neck/backless but not cut below the navel or lower than six inches above the buttocks.

● 2-piece dresses may not have a bare midriff that exceeds 1 1/2 inches.

● Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh (i.e., fingertip length).

● Dresses should be cut above the bust line.

● Undergarments should not be visible.

● See-through apparel is not permitted.

● Garments should fit appropriately to accentuate the figure tastefully.

Prom Dress Code Policy:

Guidelines for Suits/Tuxedos

● Formal prom attire is typically classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie, bow tie, turtle neck, dress shirt, vest, or cummerbund.

● Shirts are to be worn at all times.

● No athletic headwear or sagging pants

• Students should wear dress shoes for this formal occasion-however athletic shoes (such as Converse) may be worn.
• Attendees may want to bring one other pair of shoes for comfort.
• If attire does not meet requirements, verbal & written approval required.

Prom Behavior & Attendance Expectations

• Attendees must have all desired/necessary possessions before entering (i.e., ticket, state-issued ID, other footwear, wallet, purse, phone, etc.)
• No reentrance once a student or guest exits. VGCC Civic Center for any reason, reentrance will not be permitted.
• VGCC security or VECHS staff or administrator will accompany a student to and from their vehicle in case of an emergency,
• VECHS and VGCC will not be responsible for any student, or guest possessions/belongs.
• Only approved faculty chaperones, students, and guests with prom tickets will be allowed into the prom.

Prom Behavior & Attendance Expectations

• VCECHS and VGCC student code of conduct must adhere to all rules during the prom; non-compliance will be subject to discipline.
• Students or guests in possession of tobacco, vaping device, alcohol, illegal substances, or objects, and/or substances prohibited in the student code of conduct will be removed from the event and subject to legal consequences.
• It is the responsibility of VECHS students to inform guests of guidelines and dress code policy.

• Please complete the google form sent out Jan. 30.
• Please indicate if you will be bringing a guest.

Juniors please respond to the google form about your interest in joining the prom committee. (Which will be sent to you)

Graduation Portraits

Prestige portraits by lifetouch will be at our school to photograph Seniors in a Cap and Gown (which will be provided).

Senior Trip

• When: Friday, April 21, 2023.
• Cost: $80
• Includes: Park Ticket/Meal, Transportation
• Arrival Time: 8:00am
• Departure Time: 9:00pm
• ALL VECHS students are required to ride VCS provided transportation to and from Carowinds.
• Deadline for payment: TBA
