CAREER IN MEDICINE

  • 3 high graded A levels – usually chemistry is mandatory, plus 2 sciences
  • (Biology NOT mandatory but really, really helps!)

  • 5 years basic course and then 2 years as a house-officer

  • The choose career path – eg GP, surgery, medicine, lab based specialities, public health.

  • Spend 3-6 years training and then become fully qualified GP or consultant
