VGA

  • VGA stands for video graphics array. It is an analog interface between a PC and a monitor that was widely used prior to DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort.
  • It was a common to see VGA connectors on televisions, laptop computer monitors, projectors and other devices.

  • VGA port or cable only carries visual meaning. VIDEO Another source needs to be connected for audio signals.

HDMI

  • HDMI stands for high definition multimedia interface and is the most frequently used high definition signal for transferring both HD audio and video over a single cable. The HDMI is mostly found on TVs, video projectors, PC monitors, DVD, Blu ray, Ultra HD players,cable satellite boxes and etc..

  • HDMI is a much better than VGA.For some reason, and one of them is not only is HDMI cable capable of transferring more data, it also carries audio.

There are 3 types of HDMI:

  • Standard = Type A(found on PC and Desktop)
  • Mini = Type C (mostly found on camera and tablets)
  • Micro = Type D ( mostly found on compact devices such as smartphones) ��

USB-C

  • stands for universal serial bus type C. it is the most advanced technology that can be found on most of the newer laptops and mobile devices.

  • USB –C OR 3.1 cables can 4K Ultra HD video and audio from your laptop, phone to phone or tablet to your HDTV and monitor, those

Thunderbolt

  • Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt T ports looks like the same as USB-C ports on your computer, and the connector is physically the same from a plug-in perspective.

  • Thunderbolt three lets you transfer data up to 40Gps.That's twice as fast as the 10Gps maximum throughput speed for the fastest USB Type-C ports.�

Computer Keyboard

A computer keyboard is an input device used to enter characters and functions into the computer system by pressing buttons, or keys. It is the primary device used to enter text. A keyboard typically contains keys for individual letters, numbers and special characters, as well as keys for specific functions.

  • For PC users (laptop or personal computer), there is no need to buy and external webcam or camera unless it’s no more working
  • For Desktop users you need to buy an external camera or webcam as shown on the figure below.

Putty

  • What is PuTTY and why it is used?

Step one: Set up the monitor

Power off the computer and all attached devices(mouse , keyboard) to the external monitor.

Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the monitor HDMI connector and the other end to the computer.

Power on the monitor and the computer.

  1. After getting the right cable for your connection, plug it into the computer and then the monitor. This is straightforward if you are using a Windows Operating System. On Windows 8 or the later versions, simply press WIN+P on your keyboard. This will open up an options menu on the right hand side of the screen. As you can see on the image below

  1. Since you are making this connection for work, the best option would be the “Extend” option. The extend option allows you to spread the whole desktop over the two displays. You will easily drag different windows from one display to the other.
