Quick History

  • Proposed as an idea called the “caustic cauldron” in 2002
  • 10 years of applauding, nothing really happened
  • In October 2012, our founders, Brett L. Scott and Ray Rivera, decided to make the idea a reality on their own, opening as “The Arizona Cyber Warfare Range”
  • January 2013, Range 1.0 opened in “the garage”
  • September 2014, Range 2.0 opened at AZLabs
  • September 2015, Range 3.0 opened in another location at AZLabs in a proper data center
  • August 2017, opened a second location in a partnership with a major university
  • November 2017, acquired a 501c3, renamed it the “National Cyber Warfare Foundation”
  • October 2018, expanded to Wisconsin (WICTRA)
  • August 2020 - expanded to Georgia (GACWR)
  • August 2021 - opened a second range in Oshkosh, WI via WICTRA
