PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
CFLA Families, |
I love how full any given week can be on our campus. In our first week of testing we also continued our rehearsals and volleyball practices/games on top of hosting a special guest speaker, welcoming a New York Times reporter to our 7th grade Civics class and getting students started on various campus leadership roles and teams. A priority for me this year is to help students take ownership of our campus and its culture. When you are a student, it is easy to feel like things are outside of our control, because they often are! At CFLA, though, we try to show our students that when we take enthusiastic responsibility over the aspects of our lives that we can control, we get a special joy that only comes from engaging in work worth doing. |
Sincerely, Principal Joshua Corlew |

CFLA Parent Committee Reminder | Volunteer Opportunities |
CFLA is starting a new Parent Committee this year. This is a group of parents who commit to meeting quarterly to discuss ideas for supporting the school and building a stronger CFLA community. We’d love to have you join. To determine the best day/time to meet, please email joshua.corlew@cflacademy.org letting him know the following:
The goal right now is to meet after school, but depending on the interest of the parents/guardians involved, that could be adjusted as needed. | We have several ongoing and upcoming opportunities for parent/guardian volunteers. Please let us know which ones you’d like to support us with. Ongoing Opportunities

PERFORMING ARTS DEPT.
Mr. Wayne Shaw - Performing Arts Director |
Did you know that CFLA is the only school in the greater Orlando area that offers a credit class in Acting? Taught by myself, a professional theatre director from Chicago Il., this class utilizes a multitude of acting techniques and theories embracing the concept that "Acting is behaving honestly in imaginary circumstances." Small class size and individualized instruction all contribute to a unique, intensive, year long training program. |
