Not ready to ditch your textbook quite yet? Try swapping out one chapter/module of your current class with an OER chapter and see how it goes.

Found a good OER alternative to your traditional textbook? Start integrating those materials now to get a jump on spring semester.

Four steps to look for open content:

1. Identify keywords related to your course and its learning outcomes and/or objectives.
2. Search OER repositories for relevant resources.
3. Review the resources you’ve located for fit, currency and accessibility.
4. Reflect on the materials you have located.
