WHY?

Create videos for your learners to:

  • Create a welcome video each morning for your learners
  • Provide instructions for how to use your site (kids & whānau)
  • Give instructions for how to complete a task
  • Create audio to add to your Google Slides to support instructions
  • Read a story online to your kids (or if your kids have used Screencastify, get them to read a story to you, or to the class!)
  • Allow learning to be visible and rewindable!

Screencastify works seamlessly with Google Drive

Three different ways to record

Tab Recording Mode is nice for a number of reasons: it lets you reference things “off camera,” creates smaller file sizes and lets your computer run more smoothly.

You can also get the benefit of having an embedded webcam and annotation tools.

Desktop Recording Mode is pretty self explanatory it lets you record anything on your computer. This is good if you want to record an application that is not in Chrome.

In this mode you can also get the benefit of having an embedded webcam and annotation tools.

Webcam Recording Mode only captures what your webcam can see. Nothing on your computer.

When using this mode you can use pen and paper to share. In order to do this you need to spin your computer around so that it is facing down, then you can record!
